The war memorial in Arcachon , a French commune in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was inaugurated on November 11, 1924. The war memorial on Place Verdun is classified as a Monument historique .

After a competition, the sculptor Alexandre Maspoli (1875–1943) from Lyon received the order for the war memorial in memory of the 258 fallen during the First World War from Arcachon . On a mighty pedestal with the names of the dead rises a stone substructure depicting mourners. A female figure stands on it, symbolizing victorious France.

After 1945, the names of those who died in World War II and the Indochina War were also placed on the memorial.
