Lonzig war memorial

The war memorial Lonzig is a listed war memorial in the district Lonzig of the community of Gutenborn in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the memorial stone is recorded as a monument under registration number 094 86289 .

The war memorial on the main street commemorates the fallen of the First World War . It is based on the Leipzig Völkerschlachtdenkmal and has a representative staircase as well as a memorial block surrounded by trees of life . In the upper part of the war memorial there is a memorial plaque for the fallen of the First World War with the inscription Our Heroes for Eternal Remembrance Dedicated by the community of Lonzig and the names of the fallen. A memorial plaque for those who died in World War II was subsequently attached to the base. The memorial plaque bears the inscription Fallen of World War II, district Lonzig , here too the names of the fallen are on the plaque.
