Design and history

The war memorial is a stepped stele made of sandstone. A memorial plaque is embedded in this stele.

The stele was originally erected for the fallen soldiers of the First World War. After the reunification, today's general memorial plaque was installed. Since then it has also included the commemoration of those who fell in World War II. It is not known whether the original inscription could no longer be read or whether it even contained the names of the fallen.
