War Medal of Honor (Lippe)
The War Medal of Honor was donated on October 25, 1915 by Prince Leopold IV zur Lippe as an award for the care of the wounded.
The badge of honor could be awarded to all people who have made significant contributions to public welfare through loyal work in official or voluntary work, especially in caring for wounded and sick warriors and in other work for the Red Cross.
The medal is an octagonal medal made of gun bronze and shows the image of the War Merit Cross on the front . On the back is the inscription TREU BEWÄHRT IN SCHWERER ZEIT 1915 .
The medal was worn on a golden yellow ribbon with a red and white border for services in enemy territory and on a white ribbon with a red and golden yellow border for services at home.
With the abdication of Prince Leopold IV on November 11, 1918, the order was no longer awarded.
