War memorial coin (Anhalt-Köthen)

In 1819, Duke Ferdinand-Friedrich von Anhalt-Köthen donated various war memorials in memory of his predecessor, Duke Ludwig , which could be awarded to members of the Anhalt-Köthen military who had proven themselves and distinguished themselves in the Wars of Liberation.

Consisting of iron -made medals show on the front side of a center of the Herzog crown over ragtes L (Ludwig). Two branches of laurel can be seen below. On the reverse the inscription Den Vaterlands Defleidigern and the respective year or number combination.

The medal was worn on a green and white striped ribbon on the left chest.
