Krister Sørgård (born April 20, 1970 ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Sørgård, who started for Kirkenes & Omegn Skiklubb and Kjelsås IL , ran his first World Cup races in Lahti in March 1991 , finishing in 22nd place over 30 km freestyle and fourth in the relay. In the 1992/93 season he came in the points five times and thus achieved 26th place in the overall World Cup. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 1993 , he finished 12th over 10 km classic and tenth place in the subsequent pursuit. In the 1995/96 season he achieved eight individual World Cup starts and five places in the points. He achieved his first and only podium finish in the individual World Cup with second place over 50 km in Oslo . He finished the season in 27th place in the overall World Cup. In the following season he came with six results in the points, including two top ten results, 21st place in the overall World Cup and 15th place in the Sprint World Cup. These were also his best overall placements. He also finished second in the relay in March 1997 in Falun. In the 1997/98 season he finished 22nd in the overall World Cup and 19th in the Distance World Cup. His best placement in the individual was the seventh place over 10 km classic in the Fiemme Valley . In his last active season 2000/01 he was in Beitostølen third with the relay. He ran his 68th and last individual World Cup race in March 2001 in Oslo, which he finished classically in 33rd place over 50 km. In the Norwegian championships he won in 1992 with the relay of Kirkenes & Omegn Skiklubb and in 1998 over 15 km.
