Kristian Bang Foss

Kristian Bang Foss (born October 27, 1977 in Copenhagen , Denmark ) is a Danish writer .

Life

Kristian Bang Foss graduated from Østre Borgerdyd Gymnasium in 1996 . He then began studying mathematics and physics at the University of Copenhagen , which he abandoned in favor of studying at the renowned Forfatterskolen . After graduating in 2003, he made his writing debut a year later with his novel Fiskens vindue .

He had great national and international success in 2012 with his third novel Døden kører Audi . The travel story about the failed advertising expert Asger, who does a great job as a carer for the disabled Waldemar, was particularly praised for its humor. He received a nomination for the DR Novel Prize and was awarded the European Union Literature Prize and the Jytte Borberg Prize . In addition, the book has been translated into several languages; in addition to Norwegian, it was published by the Munich publisher Carl's Books in 2014 under the German title The death drives Audi after a translation by Nina Hoyer . In 2017 the author received the Beatrice Prize .
