Kristina Brazauskienė

Kristina Butrimienė-Brazauskienė (born February 20, 1949 in Kaunas , Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian entrepreneur and politician from Vilnius and widow of the former Lithuanian President Algirdas Brazauskas .

Life

During the Soviet era, Butrimienė had various professional activities. So she worked u. a. in the Kaunas Design Institute, the “Vilnius” restaurant , the “ Šešupė ” canteen , was the manager of the “ Neringa ” café and the “Draugystė” restaurant and the canteen of the Council of Ministers of Soviet Lithuania. From 1973 to 1978 she studied commercial economics at the Vilniaus universitetas . Until May 2007 she was the director of the Crown Plaza Hotel in Vilnius.

From 1990 she was a member of Lietuvos democinė darbo partija , from 2011 chairwoman of Lietuvos prezidento sąjunga. Since February 2012 she has headed the Democratinė darbo ir vienybės partija party .

From 2003 to 2007 she was a member of the Vilnius City Council.

From 2002 until his death in 2010 she was married to Algirdas Brazauskas for the second time.
