Kristof Klöckner

Kristof Klöckner (* 1956 ) is a German computer scientist and general manager at IBM responsible for software and systems development. As CTO, he led the introduction of cloud computing at IBM .

Klöckner received his doctorate in mathematics under Florin Constantinescu at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 1982 and worked at the IBM Laboratory in Böblingen from 1984 , where he dealt with the performance analysis of computer systems. He was head of the IBM software development center in Sindelfingen and the English software laboratory of IBM in Hursley . He was vice president of IBM Corporation responsible for cloud computing and then general manager of IBM Rational Software in Somers, New York .

He is an Honorary Doctor of the University of Southampton and a Fellow of the British Computer Society . In 1997 he became honorary professor at the University of Stuttgart.
