Critias (Archon)
Kritias ( Greek Κριτίας ) was in the year 599/598 BC. BC Athenian archon . He was possibly the grandson of Dropides , the archon of 645/44 BC. BC, so that brother or cousin of the archon of the same name from 593/92 BC As well as a relative of Solons . Kritias' name is mentioned as a date in an inscription to the poetess Sappho , although the exact date is unclear. He is also called there dort πρότερος ho proteros "the earlier", presumably to distinguish him from the (famous?) Son of the same name Dropides .
