Criticism of twelve philosophers

Critique of twelve philosophers ( Chinese  非 十二 子 , Pinyin Fēi shí'èr zǐ ) is the title of the sixth chapter of the book by Master Xun ( Xunzi ). In order to lay the foundations for a centralized state power, Xun analyzes and criticizes the theories of twelve thinkers of the pre-Qin period , namely Ta Ao and Wei Mou , Chen Zhong and Shi Qiu , Master Mo (Mozi) and Song Jian , Shen Dao and Tian Pian , Hui Shi and Deng Xi , Zisi and Master Meng (Mencius). The writing ends with a hymn of praise to the teaching of Confucius and his student Zigong .
