Kroes (unit)

Kroes , also Krues , was used as a volume measure for grain in East Frisia and Meppen . The measure means jug and was a little more than a liter in size.

The dimensional chain was:

  • 1 Vierup / Vierdup / Veerp = 2 bushels = 4 vatjes = 36 kroes
  • 1 kroes = 1.3845 liters
