Crown of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia
The crown of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia (K) was (together with the Reichsmark ) the currency in the territory of the Imperial German Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . The banknotes were printed in both German and Czech. In addition, the Czechoslovak crown remained valid until 1944. Ten kroner corresponded to one Reichsmark.
The first state notes of the Protectorate were hand-printed Czechoslovak 1- and 5-crown state notes; but many banknotes were in circulation even without the overprint. In 1940, 10, 20, 50 Heller coins and 1, 5, 10, 20, two 50 and two 100 krone national notes were introduced. Gradually, the currency was supplemented with 1-krone coins and 500, 1000 and 5000-krone banknotes. Protectorate coins were minted from technical zinc in a furniture factory in Lissa on the Elbe .
