Krossneslaug

Krossnes is a headland in the municipality of Árnes in northwest Iceland .

It is known for the Krossneslaug , an open-air swimming pool (12.5 × 6 m) that was inaugurated in 1954 and is located just a few meters from the North Atlantic . It is fed with water from the Krossneslaug hot spring, which is also the namesake. Bathing is possible all year round and costs 700 kr per person (as of September 2019). Payment by credit card is also possible. If the owner is not present on site, you can also put the money in a specially held box. The bathroom also had a gender-separated changing room - including a shower system.

location

Krossnes is located east of Norðurfjörður in the West Fjords of Iceland . The expanded Strandavegur (road 643) ends in Norðurfjörður, but a slope still leads around the headland, to the swimming pool and a few kilometers further.
