Siegfried Schoenbohm

Siegfried Schoenbohm (* 1938 in South Dakota ; † spring 2006 ) was an opera director from the USA.

Schoenbohm was Walter Felsenstein's assistant and in 1966 became a director at the Komische Oper Berlin . From 1973 to 1978 he was senior director of the Heidelberg Municipal Theaters , from 1981 to 1983 at the Freiburg Municipal Theater , then until 1991 at the Kassel State Theater Opera House .

As a guest director he worked a. a. at the Hamburg State Opera , at the Grillo Theater in Essen, in Dortmund, Hanover, Frankfurt, Athens and the Bonn Opera , where he performed Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen . As a librettist he took part in the operas Die Baßgeige and Die Bakchen by Argyris Kounadis .
