Krupp diamond

The Krupp diamond is a colorless 33.19 carat (6.636 g) diamond, also known as the Elizabeth Taylor diamond .

The diamond belonged to the German industrial family Krupp . It was sold after the death of Alfried Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach's second wife Vera (1909–1967). Actor Richard Burton acquired the diamond for $ 305,000 and gave it to his then-wife, Elizabeth Taylor, when they were four years old. Elizabeth Taylor wore this diamond as a set ring. On December 16, 2011, the diamond was auctioned off at Christie's in New York City for $ 8,818,500 .
