Dragon lance

The world of the dragon lance (in the US original Dragonlance ) is based on the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons , published since 1984 series of novels and short stories , which are published under the direction of the US publisher TSR (now Wizards of the Coast ). It is also a so-called campaign setting for role-playing games.

The two original authors Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman , who are also the authors of the so-called main line of the series, have only limited influence on the development of the world, as do the other authors of the first Dragonlance role-playing game. The world is called Krynn and consists of several continents including Ansalon (capital of novels and games) and the little-known Taladas. There are several computer games from SSI , namely Champions of Krynn , Death Knights of Krynn and The Dark Queen of Krynn (so-called Dragonlance Fantasy Role-Playing Epic within the Gold Box series) as well as Heroes of the Lance , Dragons of Flame , Shadow Sorcerer , War of the Lance and Dragonstrike , which are also set in this world.

The history of the world of Krynn is shaped by the struggle between good , neutral and evil forces. This triple division, typical of Dungeons & Dragons worlds, is clearly reflected, for example, in the nature of gods (paladin, Gilean and Takhisis), races (elves, humans and ogres) and magic (white, red and black magicians).

A cartoon, a series of radio plays and audio books about the first books have also been released.
