Dragon Strike is a computer game , which in 1990 by Westwood Studios develops and SSI Inc. was published. The game combined elements from role-playing games and flight simulations . It used 3D polygons to represent the landscape and mostly sprites for spells , enemies, etc.
In the game, a dragon rider fights against various opponents through missions that have to be approached on a map. The game itself is based on the world of the role-playing system Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and is set in the world known from the Dragon Lance saga, Krynn.
As one of the first 3D games (1990), the look and the "feel" were perceived as very impressive, and the game achieved a good rating in most computer magazines. Hartley, Patricia and Kirk Lesser from the official D&D magazine Dragon gave 5 out of 5 points in their column The Role of Computers in issue # 161.
