Tracy Hickman

Tracy Raye Hickman (* 26. November 1955 in Salt Lake City , Utah ) is an American fantasy - author . He wrote and writes together u. a. with his colleague Margaret Weis on several fantasy cycles, including Dragon Lance and The Forgotten Realms . He is also (co-) author of various fantasy role-playing games.

Life

After graduating from Provo High School in 1974, his main interests were music, theater, and the Air Force ( JROTC ). Hickman is a Mormon and served two years of missionary work for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hawaii and Indonesia in 1975 , as is common practice in that denomination. Therefore he also speaks Indonesian . After returning to the USA, he married his high school girlfriend Laura Curtis during the first four months , with whom he has four children. Until 1984 Tracy worked in various jobs, for example as a theater manager, in the supermarket or as a glass worker. In 1984 TSR bought two of the role-playing modules it had written to date , which then led to a collaboration with Margaret Weis and joint work on the Dragonlance Chronicles in 1985 . He now lives in St. George in the US state of Utah .
