Krzysztof Boguszewski
Krzysztof Aleksander Boguszewski (* around 1590 ; † 1635 in Poznań , Poland-Lithuania ) was a Polish painter and priest in Poznań.
Life
Krzysztof Boguszewski came from the Polish noble family Opoja from the Kulmer Land . 1623 he was by King Sigismund III. Wasa appointed serwitor (honorary title for artist) because of his excellent painting ( arte pictoria excellentiam ). He lived in Poznan since 1624 at the latest.
In 1630 Boguszewski was appointed provost of the Church of St. Adalbert (św. Wojciecha) and was ordained chaplain the following year. In 1634 he was also the canon of the collegiate monastery of St. Maria Magdalena in Posen.
Boguszewski wrote his will on January 13, 1635, and died on February 12 of the same year. He was buried at the Adalbert Church.
Act
Krzysztof Boguszewski's paintings are best known in churches. He is counted among the most important baroque painters in Poland.
