The Ksawer Palace (also Ksawerów Palace or Ksawer - or Ksawerów Manor House , Polish: Pałacyk Ksawerów or Dwór Ksawerów ) is a listed mansion on Warsaw's 13th Ksawerów Street . It is one of the few representative historical buildings in the Mokotów district and is located around 500 meters southwest of the larger Królikarnia Palace . The residential area Ksawerów was named after him.

history

The mansion of the Xawery (also Ksawery) Pusłowski family was built around 1840. Later, a vertical rear wing was added to the mansion, which followed the classic shape and was on a square floor plan. The surrounding village was called Ksawerów - the name has been preserved to this day as part of the Mokotów district. During the Second World War , the palace was damaged both in the attack on Warsaw in 1939 and in the course of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. After the war the building was restored.

It is kept in the classicist country house style of the time. The ground floor building has a four-column, Ionic portico on its east-facing entrance . The ensemble of buildings is located in a park of around 8,000 square meters, which is surrounded to the east by Ulica Wielicka and to the west by the back of the post-war apartment buildings on Aleja Niepodległości . The Ksawerów runs in the north .

Today the building houses the monument protection department of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Polish: Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego , Ochrony Zabytków Department ).
