Kshetra Pratap Adhikari ( Nepali : क्षेत्रप्रताप अधिकारी , Kṣetrapratāp Adhikārī ; * 1942 in Mirlung , Tanahun District , Nepal ; † April 13, 2014 in Bansbari , Nepal) was a Nepalese poet and lyricist .

Life

Adhikari and his lyrics in song form were well known across generations in his home country. He wrote poems that appeared in important anthologies in Nepal and were often set to music.

In 2012 he received the Life Time Achievement Award 15th Hits FM Music Award for life's work.

The most famous songs, the lyrics of which he wrote, include " Jindagina Dherai Kura garma Bacchi Chha, Sabaibhan Thulo Kura Marma Baaki Chhab ", " Kya Bore Bhayo ", " Me Ta Laliguras Bhayechhu ". The most famous interpreters of his lyrics include the Nepalese singers Narayan Gopal , Bachchu Kailash , Ram Krishna Dhakal and Yogeshwar Amatya .

During the Panchayat regime he was also deputy minister of state for education for some time.

Adhikari lived in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu . On April 13, 2014, he died at the age of 72 as a result of a heart attack in a heart center in Bansbari.
