Ku Tang

Ku Tang or Kutang is a blow idiophone that was previously used in China as a toy .

The effect instrument , also known as the “glass drum”, consists of a glass ball with a mouth tube, similar to a carafe. To make music, the player takes the neck of the instrument in his mouth and creates a crackling sound by inhaling and exhaling. This is caused by the very thin floor being set in motion. The instrument was popular in Shandong Province .
