This, the Moedake ( 燃 岳 ) in the northern part of the island with a height of 425 meters and the Yokodake ( 横 岳 ) with 501 meters in the western part of the island are the three volcanoes that make up the island. The northern peninsula is formed by the 235 meter high Furii-dake ( フ リ イ 岳 ). Although no eruption has been recorded in historical times, the Moedake gives off steam and there is discoloration of the ocean in the nearby waters. 2001 showed continuous volcanic activity.

The port facility is located southwest of the Furii-dake and the village is 400 m southeast of it.
