The Kuhturm in Günzburg , a town in the Swabian district of Günzburg , was built in the 17th century. The gate tower is a protected architectural monument .

history

The lower part of the tower probably dates from the Middle Ages . The round archway and the vault shape were created around 1600. The octagon can already be seen on a cityscape from 1613. The coat of arms relief above the archway on the inside bears the year 1617. After the town fire of 1735, the tower was rebuilt in its old form. The tower, which was inhabited by a city servant in the 18th century, still has several holding cells .

description
