Kuki Moritaka

Kuki Moritaka ( Japanese九 鬼 守 隆; * 1573 ; † 1632 ) was a general and admiral in the service of Tokugawa Ieyasu . He was the son of Kuki Yoshitaka , one of the leading generals of Toyotomi Hideyoshi .

In the last years of the 16th century, Kuki Moritaka supported Tokugawa Ieyasu , who was striving for supremacy , his father was on the other side and supported Ishida Mitsunari . After Tokugawa's victory in the Battle of Sekigahara , Moritaka was confirmed as lord of the family fief, which was also increased from 26,000 to 46,000 Koku . His father committed suicide in 1600. After that Moritaka remained a loyal general of the Tokugawa, he commanded their fleet during the siege of Osaka 1614-1615.
