A kukri-shaped cutting knife is a weapon and tool from India.
description
A kukri-shaped cutting knife has a single-edged, curved, heavy blade . The blade becomes wider from the handle to the location and is bent from about 1/3 of the blade length. The blade is usually smooth, without a hollow grind or central ridge. The blade cross-section is wedge-shaped. It is made in such a way that the main weight of the blade is in the local area in order to strengthen the cutting effect. The handle is usually made of metal and resembles the handle of the talwar . Often these knives are decorated with elaborate engravings and etchings . The shape of the blade is the Nepalese khukurias a rolemodel. It is used as a weapon and tool by ethnic groups from India.
