The Kulczycki Palace is a Grade II listed building in Radom in the province Mazowieckie in Poland . It has served as a library since 1992 .

history

The palace at ulica Piłsudskiego 12 was built in 1892 by the notary Włodzimierz Kulczycki. The Bank Handlowy bought it in 1896 and expanded it to a second floor. After the invasion of Poland , it served as a telecommunications office during World War II . After the renovation, the city museum was opened there on October 21, 1945 with an exhibition on Polish painting. In 1964 it was expanded to become a regional museum.

Wrought iron fence (1975)

With the creation of the Radom Voivodeship , the museum was converted into a District Museum (Muzeum Okręgowe w Radomiu) in July 1975. It was the following year the building of the former Piarist - College (Rynek 11). The scientific and educational department remained from the Kulczycki Palace until 1990. After they moved out, the voivodeship library was set up there in 1992, and after the voivodeship was dissolved in 1999, it served as the city ​​library (Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna im. Józefa Andrzeja i Andrzeja Stanisława Załuskich).

The building was registered on January 5, 1984 under the number 232 / A / 84 on the voivodeship's national list of monuments. Under the number 537 / A / 93, the monument protection was extended to the garden and the wrought-iron fence on November 25, 1993 .
