Kulturinitiative Industriekinder

The Kulturinitiative Industriekinder was a group of photographers who dedicated their work to the architecture and urban history of the Ruhr area, and in particular the city of Gelsenkirchen . The group consisted of Nicole Montpellier, Roland Küpper, Ullrich Tyrichter, Julius Erbslöh and Uwe Eschstruth and was founded in 2003 .

The “industrial children” endeavored to make the history of the city and region visible and understandable. The members move through the Ruhr area with open eyes in search of traces of the past and special perspectives.
