Cultural landscape program

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A cultural landscape program ( KULAP or KLP ) or cultural landscape maintenance program ( KLP ) is an environmental program in the area of area-related agriculture (in particular grassland and arable farming , also in viticulture and fruit growing) that ensures the comprehensive preservation of a cultural landscape classified as worthy of preservation through a certain type of agricultural land management ( Extensive agriculture , ecological agriculture , landscape conservation ) supported financially, if this would not be competitive without funding. As part of a KULAP, farmers are therefore granted a “compensation for disadvantages” for compliance with appropriate and officially defined requirements.

There are cultural landscape programs in many German federal states, as well as in Austria and Switzerland. They are co-financed by the budgets of the EU, the federal government and the respective federal state. The programs are partially supplemented by landscape maintenance programs (mostly related to specific local environmental objects) at the municipal level (districts and municipalities).
