The art against cash is a cabaret show conceived and directed by Gerd Buurmann , which, in addition to Cologne, takes place in over 40 cities in Germany , Switzerland , Belgium and Spain . Gerd Buurmann played under the name Kunst gegen Bares for the first time on January 1, 2007 in the Eifelturm Theater in Cologne , from January 7, 2008 in the Severins-Burg-Theater and since October 2010 in the art heater.

concept

In keeping with the tradition of an open stage , the artists come out from the audience. The moderator then sets an order and gives them the stage. Performances of all kinds are allowed, which must not exceed a certain time limit. After all artists have finished their performances, they will be given a piggy bank . The audience can throw an amount of money into these piggy banks that they consider appropriate as a reward for the respective artist. At the end of the event, it will be determined who had the highest income. The winner is then awarded the title “Capitalist Pig of the Week”. The collected money remains entirely with the individual artists.
