The Isfahan Arts and Crafts Museum ( Persian موزه هنرهای تزئینی اصفهان, muzɛ jɛ honæɾhɑ jɛ tæzini jɛ ɛsfɑhɑn ) was founded in 1995. More than 3000 works of art from the Safavid and Qajar era are kept here. The museum building dates from the era of Abbas I. During his and his successors' time, the building was used as the stable of the Tschehel Sotun Palace and equipment for horses was stored in it. A multi-story tower from the Qajar dynasty is right next to the museum. At first it was used as a watchtower , later it was converted into a prison . The tower has no decorations, but is considered a remarkable relic of Safavid architecture .
