Valand Art School
The Valand Art School (Swedish: Konsthögskolan Valand), commonly called Valand , is an art school in Gothenburg , Sweden .
history
It was founded as the Gothenburg Drawing School in 1865 and has been part of the University of Gothenburg since 1977 . The school is located in the center of Gothenburg on Vasagatan . Valand has around 70 students and has been part of the Bologna Process since 2007 with a three-year bachelor's degree in fine arts and a two-year master's program in fine arts as well as independent studies and research opportunities. Only about 20 new students are accepted each year.
Every spring, the MFA graduate students exhibit together in the Gothenburg Kunsthalle and other galleries. The school has two galleries, Rotor and Rotor 2.
