Einar Hákonarson (born January 14, 1945 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic painter and graphic artist .
Einar Hákonarson studied at the Icelandic College of Art and Crafts in Reykjavík from 1960 to 1964 . He then moved to the Valand School of Fine Arts in Gothenburg , Sweden. He was already impressed by Pop Art during his student days , and the works of the artists David Hockney and Francis Bacon also influenced him. He lives with his family in Hólmavík and works in Reykjavík .
Einar was on the committee for the Icelandic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 1984 and 1986 .
