Works of art from monasteries and monasteries in Austria
Works of art from monasteries and monasteries in Austria is a definitive stamp series from Austria with ten values, which was published from 1993 to 1995. Each stamp shows a work of art from an Austrian monastery or monastery.
Drafting and printing
The stamps in portrait format were engraved and designed by Werner Pfeiler and the Austrian State Printing House used intaglio and halftone gravure as combination printing . The stamps were printed in sheets of 100 pieces each. The comb perforation was used to separate brands .
Edition numbers
The circulation figures are not known, but experience shows that it can be assumed that they were up to a few hundred million per issue. Due to the postage rate and the running time, the definitive stamps for 5.50 and 6.00 were most frequently produced. The values at 26.00 and 30.00 are the least common.
particularities
The previous series of definitive stamps from the Austrian Post was called “ Stifte und Kloster in Österreich ”. Since these stamps have a different appearance and partly have the same value levels as the successor series, this issue is regarded as a separate definitive series.
The successors to this series were the sagas and legends from Austria .
Market value
The stamps are more valuable in the mint condition than in the used or canceled condition, as there is a large inventory due to the frequent everyday use.
As with most postage stamps, the value from the postage stamp catalogs is very much oversubscribed, especially if larger quantities ( kiloware ) are traded. The price in the catalogs can, however, be used as a comparison value between stamps.
Due to the introduction of the euro , the stamps with schilling values lost significantly in value, as these are no longer valid for postage after a transitional period in which an exchange was possible.
When stamped, the price is very much dependent on the quality and legibility of the stamp (date, place, zip code). Complete series with beautiful stamps are more expensive.
