Kuorevesi [ ˈkuo̯reʋˌʋesi ] is a former municipality in Finland and is now part of the city of Jämsä .

The former municipality is located on the eponymous lake Kuorevesi around 30 kilometers west of the core town of Jämsä. At the time of its communal independence, Kuorevesi belonged to the Pirkanmaa region , with the incorporation to Jämsä it came to the Central Finland region . The main town of the municipality of Kuorevesi was Halli , located at the northern end of Lake Eväjärvi . In total, the municipality covered an area of ​​334.2 square kilometers. Most recently, Kuorevesi had 3,024 inhabitants (1997).

Kuorevesi originally belonged to the parish Längelmäki , from which it split off as an independent municipality in 1873. In 2001 Kuorevesi was incorporated into the city of Jämsä.

The Kuorevesi Church, built in 1779, is located on a peninsula in Lake Kuorevesi. It is a wooden church with a rectangular floor plan and a west tower.
