Copper hammer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A copper hammer is a hammer with a head made of the metal copper .

Unlike conventional hammers made of steel , when hammering with a copper hammer - for example on stone - no sparks can be produced. The copper hammer is therefore part of the standard equipment of the fire service , as it can also be used in potentially explosive areas. Copper and aluminum hammers are also used in industry for their softness. Workpieces or tools made of steel cannot be unintentionally deformed or damaged by the use of a hammer.
