The hilltop castle is an Outbound hilltop castle in the forest between the Arnsteiner districts Bräunrode and Friedrichrode in Mansfeld-Südharz .

In 1659 wood was felled on the Guckenburgk .

From April to October 1705 and from June to August 1706 stone crushers were employed in the castle ruins to extract building material that was removed and used for new buildings on the Vorwerk Friedrichrode.

Today's castle site only shows remains of ramparts and moats .
