The Kuroda ( Japanese 黒 田氏 , Kuroda-shi ) were a family of the Japanese sword nobility ( Buke ), who descended from the Sasaki of Ōmi, who in turn derived from the Uda Genji . With an income of 520,000 Koku , the Kuroda residing in Fukuoka belonged to the great Tozama daimyo of the Edo period .

  • Mototaka ( 職 隆 ; 1524–1585)
  • Yoshitaka ( 孝 高 ; 1546–1604). His name was initially Kodera, but in 1583 he was baptized "Simeon". In Portuguese sources he is therefore known as Simeon Condera . Under pressure from Toyotomi Hideyoshi , he had to leave the leadership of the Han to his son Nagamasa. He then also bore the name Yosui ( 如水 ).
  • Nagamasa ( 長 政 ; 1568–1623). He served Tokugawa Ieyasu and received Najima Province Chikuzen and renamed it "Fukuoka". He left the church.

The branch line (2) existed from 1688 to 1721. When it became extinct, its residence also disappeared. The branch line (2) was satisfied with a fixed house ( 陣 屋 , jinya ).
