history

In the 17th electoral period, from May 5, 2010 to April 5, 2013, there was the Enquete Commission Internet and Digital Society . As a result, the 18th German Bundestag unanimously decided on February 13, 2014 to set up a standing committee called the “Digital Agenda”. The committee was originally to be set up on December 19, 2013, but there were disagreements about the committee's tasks and whether it should be given lead responsibility. In the Bundestag debate on February 13, 2014, the opposition criticized the fact that the application for appointment did not clarify whether the committee was also in charge or only advisory. The constituent meeting took place on February 19, 2014 .
