Kurt Bittel Prize for South German Archeology

Since 1989, the city of Heidenheim has been awarding the Kurt Bittel Prize for South German Antiquity , which is awarded every two years for outstanding research achievements in the area of ​​the prehistory of southern Germany. The prize is endowed with 5500 euros, the jury consists of specialist representatives and the Mayor of Heidenheim. The award commemorates the archaeologist Kurt Bittel from Heidenheim . Bittel was an honorary citizen of the city.
