Kurt Bingel

Kurt Bingel (born June 4, 1906 in Dreifelden , Westerwald, † 1966 in Heidelberg ) was a German virologist.

Life

Bingel began studying medicine at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin . In 1926 he was in the Corps Borussia Berlin recipiert . When he was inactive , he moved to the new University of Cologne . She received her doctorate in 1933 as Dr. med. In 1943 he completed his habilitation in hygiene and microbiology at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg . After the war he was first head of the State Medical Investigation Office in Heidelberg. He later became the first professor of virology at the RKU. Bingel primarily dealt with scarlet fever , flu, and interferon . The work on the pathogenesis of scarlet fever was later clinically confirmed.
