Kurt Gravemeier

Kurt Gravemeier (born September 23, 1957 in Lengerich (Westphalia) ) is a former German show jumper and former national trainer of German show jumpers.

Life

Career as a rider

Kurt Gravemeier started riding at the age of eight. He was trained by his father. At the age of 15 he became Westphalian master in dressage . At the same time he competed in his first S-class. He then decided to concentrate entirely on show jumping. He trained as a horse manager with Herbert Meyer . In 1988 he became head of the stud with Hendrik Snoek . One of his greatest successes was winning the 1992 Grand Prix of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dortmund . Kurt Gravemeier competed in 33 Nations Cups. In 1995 he ended his sporting career for health reasons.

Career as a coach

From 1997 to 2000 Gravemeier was the national trainer of the juniors and young riders jumping, from 2000 to 2008 he was the national trainer of the German show jumping. In 2013 and 2014 he took over the training of the Belgian show jumpers. In 2013 Gravemeier leased the previous riding facility from Claudia Kirchhoff, Ulrich Kirchhoff's former wife . Here he mainly does horse trade .

Private

Kurt Gravemeier is married and has three children.

  • 1973: 3rd place in the junior European championships in the jumping team
  • 1975: 2nd place at the Junior European Championships in the jumping team
  • 1992: 1st place in the Grand Prix of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dortmund
