Kurt Mathis

Kurt Mathis (born January 4, 1946 in Bregenz ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and businessman. Mathis was a member of the National Council from 1993 to 1994 .

Mathis attended grammar school after primary school, where he graduated from high school in 1965. He then graduated from the Higher Technical Federal Teaching and Research Institute in Bregenz specializing in mechanical engineering. Between 1966 and 1977 Mathis was employed in various companies, after which he worked as an independent businessman and sold quality tools to trade and industry.

Mathis was politically active as a local councilor in Bregenz and held the function of a member of the state party executive of the ÖVP Vorarlberg. From 1989 he was also deputy chairman or deputy club chairman of the ÖVP Bregenz 1989 and from April 27, 1990 to May 5, 1992 city council in Bregenz. He also represented the ÖVP in the National Council from October 15, 1993 to November 6, 1994.
