Kurt Nekula

Kurt Nekula (born November 8, 1955 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and a former member of the Austrian National Council .

Kurt Nekula taught music and mathematics in the Viennese middle school in Anton-Krieger-Gasse and was involved with Kinderfreunde , the Society of Austrian Children's Villages and the Association of Compulsory School Parents. After Claudia Schmied became Minister of Education, Nekula took over the agendas of educational planning, research and teaching principles in the Ministry of Education.

Nekula is president of the Licht ins Dunkel association .

Nekula has been a member of the SPÖ since the age of 17. With the election of Alfred Gusenbauer as SPÖ party leader, Nekula also got involved in Gusenbauer's election campaign. After the resignation of Alexander Zach , Nekula was sworn in as a member of the National Council on September 24, 2008. Due to the National Council election in 2008 on September 28, 2008 , Nekula resigned from the National Council a short time later. He ran for this election only in 43rd place on the SPÖ federal list.

Private

Nekula is married and has three children.
