Kurt Schmelter
Kurt Schmelter (born September 21, 1925 in Cologne ; † September 3, 2013 ) was a German CDU politician .
education and profession
Kurt Schmelter attended elementary school and high school, where he passed his Abitur in 1943. Afterwards he attended the administration school of the city of Cologne for the upper class for three years. Schmelter became city inspector. In 1957 he took up the position of managing director of the CDU Cologne.
politics
Kurt Schmelter had been a member of the CDU since 1946. From 1951 to 1954 he acted as chairman of the Junge Union Köln-Stadt and was then deputy chairman of the CDU Köln-Stadt until 1957.
Kurt Schmelter was directly elected member of the 4th , 5th , 8th and 9th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 014 from July 21, 1958 to July 23, 1966 and from May 28, 1975 to May 29, 1985 Cologne city II, constituency 015 Cologne city II or for constituency 016 Cologne IV.
