Kurt Stempell

Kurt Reinhold Stempell (born May 1, 1938 in Kreuzburg ; † March 22, 2020 ) was a German politician (CDU). In 1990 he was a member of the freely elected People's Chamber and then until 2004 of the Saxon State Parliament .

Life

Stempell attended secondary school and graduated from high school in Pforta near Naumburg an der Saale . From 1956 to 1962 he completed a degree at the TH / TU Dresden , which he graduated as a graduate engineer for textile and fiber technology. After a year of work, he did his basic military service in the National People's Army from 1963 to 1965 . After that he was deputy head of department in the production of a rayon factory in Plauen until 1967 . From 1967 he was a research assistant and deputy head of the product development department.

Stempell died on March 22, 2020 at the age of 81.

The CDU of the GDR belonged to Stempell since 1965th From 1970 to 1990 he was a member of the city council in Plauen. From March to October 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR. Then he moved into the state parliament of Saxony via constituency 78 (Plauen), to which he belonged until 2004.
