Kurt Veit von Witzleben

Kurt Veit von Witzleben (born June 7, 1645 in Liebenstein , † June 22, 1719 in Elmeloh ) was the Danish master hunter and landdrost of the county of Delmenhorst and owner of the manors Hude and Elmeloh.

He came from the Thuringian noble family von Witzleben . His parents were Georg Melchior von Witzleben (1595–1672) and his wife Agnes von Wangenheim († 1690).

He was a co-owner of Liebenstein until 1690; He sold this share to his brother Johann Adam von Witzleben , but he sold the share in Gräfinau in 1692 to his brother Friedrich Wilhelm von Witzleben .

On December 9, 1692 he bought the Elmeloh estate from the Bremen councilor Kasper Meyer († 1693) for 17,000 thalers. The dues for his court amounted to 472 thalers until 1699, when Frederick IV took office , the dues rose to 1,600 thalers. For this he received his fiefdom on November 22nd, 1701.

In 1685 he married Eleonore Marie von Knuth from the Leisten family (* January 14, 1658; † February 15, 1707). She was the daughter of the Swedish lieutenant colonel Jakob Ernst von Knuth and his wife Elisabeth von Maira , and sister of the Danish junior chamberlain and privy councilor Adam Levin von Kunth († 1699). The couple had three sons and one daughter:

  • Christian Friedrich (April 12, 1686 - January 11, 1717), Danish lieutenant, buried in Ganderkesee
  • Christoph Burckhard (* May 2, 1687; † June 6, 1732) ∞ Theresa Ursula von Dorgelo († April 9, 1750)
  • Adam Levin (June 6, 1688; † October 30, 1745) ∞ Eleanor Marie von Lüttichau (* April 14, 1669; † January 13, 1746)
  • Charlotte Amalie (born June 17, 1692) ∞ July 3, 1710 Eberhard Hermann Jobst von Dincklage († 1755), heir of Schulenburg, canon in Minden

Eleonore Marie and her husband were both buried in the church of Ganderkesee.
