Kurt Wuchterl

Kurt Wuchterl (* 1931 ) is a German teacher, philosopher and author.

Life

Wuchterl studied mathematics, philosophy and physics in Heidelberg and Göttingen. In 1956 he passed the first and three years later the second state examination for school service. He received his doctorate with a thesis The Theory of Formal Logic with Kant and in Logistics with Hans-Georg Gadamer and Dieter Henrich . Then he went to school and taught at high schools in Ellwangen, Ulm and Schwäbisch Gmünd.

From 1970 he had lectureships at the Universities of Stuttgart and Konstanz. In 1975 he completed his habilitation with a cumulative habilitation thesis in philosophy of language and logic at the University of Stuttgart . From 1981 he was an adjunct professor of philosophy there until 2002. He was also a lecturer in philosophy teacher training in Baden-Württemberg.

He stands out in particular as the author of books on philosophy, which give a general overview: His research focuses on the philosophy of the 20th century, analytical philosophy, philosophy of religion, philosophy of mathematics, Wittgenstein, didactics of philosophy.

Prices

1966 Prize of the Aristotelian Society London for a work on the phenomenological foundations of mathematics.
