The Kurushima Islands ( Japanese 来 島 群島 Kurushima-guntō ) are a Japanese group of islands in the Seto Inland Sea .
geography
The Kurushima Islands form the south-western part of the Geiyo Islands , which separate the two marine regions Hiuchi-nada and Iyo-nada of the inland sea. The Kurushima Islands consist of two geographically separated groups: a northern group around the island of Umashima in the Kurushima Strait ( 来 島 海峡 Kurushima-kaikyō ) between the Takanawa Peninsula in northwest Shikoku and the island of Ōshima of the Ochi Islands ; as well as a group around the island of Hiki-jima located 11 km southeast.
The Kurushima Kaikyō Bridge, which connects the island with Ōshima and the Takanawa Peninsula, runs across Umashima .
Administratively, the archipelago belongs to the city of Imabari .
